Tornadoes on January 23, 2012!

The tornadoes were headed straight for Gardendale and Mt. Olive but they swerved and went towards Trussville and Clay.  Our little town was very lucky to have the storms miss us.  The news said that the tornado is Clay was a F3.  The Monday after the storms I went with some of my friends to go help clean up in Clay.  The subdivision where we went to help was destroyed.  There were houses that were completely gone.  We helped clean up glass and trees from the area. The destruction just scares me for the storms to come on Thursday.

Soft Skills

Soft Skills is a sociological term relating to a person's EQ, the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, personal habits, friendliness, and optimism that characterize relationships with other people.
1. Communication skills - general skills to listen and articulate your ideas in writing and verbally to any audience. This would help me because I am very outgoing and can talk to anyone about anything.
2. Presentation skills – ability to maintain attention and achieve your desired outcome from presenting to an audience. This would not help me because I get nervous in front of big groups of people.
3. Leadership skills – ability to create and communicate vision and ideas that inspires others to follow with commitment and dedication. This would help me because I'm really good at leading people to achieve a goal.
4. Patience – ability to step back in an emergency to think clearly or the ability to pause and wait when you are in a rush or want to rush others. This would not help me because I am one of the most impatient people you will ever meet.
5. Organizing skills – ability to organize business gatherings to facilitate learning, networking, or business transactionsople. This would help me because i am a very organized person and I love leading people to accomplish our goals in the company.

Reasons to Get Fired

People get fired from their jobs all the time. Mainly people get fired because of rudeness to customers, profanity, not wearing appropriate clothing, not getting your work done, not being on time, not coming to work, being rude to other employees, dishonesty, lying on your resume, and showing to work drunk. My problem would be profanity. I don't cuss much but when I'm mad words just slip out! I really need to work on that!

Christmas Break!

This Christmas I knew everything I was getting so nothing was a surprise! I got a Coach purse and perfume, MissMe Jeans, and a lot of clothes. After Christmas we went down to visit some friends from Thomaston, Alabama. When we came back it was New Years and I spent that whole day and night with my friends. I will never forget that night as long as I live!  Then New Years Day we went to my grandparents house and ate roast, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and corn bread. I couldn't have picked a better way to spend my break!
